If you market an app or software product, CawCut Ad Video can turn its App Store or Google Play listing into a short promotion video. Prepare the listing, add the link, define the user benefit, review the creative, and generate the video.

1. Add Your App Marketplace App

  1. Open [Ad Video].
  2. Paste the App Store or Google Play listing URL into the link field.
  3. Click [Analyze URL].

CawCut collects visible app details, icon, screenshots, features, pricing, and selling points from the listing.

If you do not have a usable app marketplace link, select [Add Product Manually] and enter the app information yourself.

Before adding the link, make the listing easy to understand:

  • Use a clear app name and concise description that explain the problem, audience, and main benefit.
  • Keep feature descriptions, screenshots, supported devices or platforms, pricing, subscriptions, trials, and privacy claims current.
  • Use readable screenshots that show the real interface and remove outdated or duplicate images.

Then review the imported details:

  • Correct the [Product Name] and [Description] if needed.
  • Choose a clear [Primary Image] and supporting screenshots that match the current listing.
  • Check features, ratings, pricing, subscriptions, trials, and other claims.
  • Select one user benefit as the main focus of the video.

You can also add a free trial or limited-time offer, but confirm that the terms and eligibility are current.

For more details about the workflow, see Create Ad Video. You can also organize app content with the Product Node.

2. Tell CawCut What to Promote

Choose one user benefit, target audience, use case, tone, and accurate app claim. Keep the video focused on one problem, action, or outcome.

Match the message to the platform:

  • App Store: Use the strongest screenshot or preview moment and focus on the outcome, workflow, or feature that best represents the iPhone or iPad experience. Apple recommends leading with the app’s strongest features in a clear sequence; see App Store product page guidance.
  • Google Play: Focus on the core task, supported Android experience, or feature that helps users decide to install. Keep device, availability, and subscription details accurate, and avoid unsupported ranking or promotional claims; see Google Play listing guidance.
  • Both: Show the real interface, keep on-screen text readable, and do not promise features that are unavailable in the current app version.

If the video mentions a free trial, subscription, price, or special offer, check the offer and eligibility before using it.

Configure the video for its destination:

  • Choose the destination [Platform] and aspect ratio.
  • Select the [Resolution] and a [10s] or [15s] duration.
  • Choose [Product Showcase], [Product with Voiceover], or [Talking Video].
  • Set the [Language] and enable [Captions] when needed.
  • Select a storyboard style, then click [Continue].

Review the generated ideas and choose one concept built around the selected benefit. Keep it to one user, one problem, and one action or result.

If none of the suggestions fits, select [Use your own idea] and describe the user, app action, benefit, and end-card message. Keep the concept simple enough to fit the selected duration.

3. Review the Script and Storyboard

Before generating, confirm that the app information, selected benefit, story, shots, and platform match the listing and campaign goal. Check the app name, features, pricing, promotions, claims, and spoken lines. Edit the script if needed; see Mastering Ad Scripts.

Review the script for platform accuracy:

  • App Store: Check iOS or iPadOS references, supported devices, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and privacy or permissions claims.
  • Google Play: Check Android references, supported devices, subscriptions, install or availability claims, and required disclosures.
  • Both: Make sure the interface, feature names, buttons, and results match the current app version.

If you generate a storyboard, check the shot order, transitions, readability, and app presentation. Make sure the interface matches the current app and remains legible on a small screen.

4. Generate a Preview and Final Video

Use the storyboard to check the story, timing, app presentation, and visual style before generating the final video. Then:

  1. Confirm the final script and storyboard, if you created one.
  2. Generate a 480P preview first.
  3. If the direction works, choose your preferred model and resolution, then generate the final version.
  4. Preview the completed video on the [Video] step and check the visuals, timing, captions, voiceover, screen text, app details, and promotion before publishing.

Fix problems in the storyboard or preview before switching to a higher model or resolution. This preview-first workflow helps reduce unnecessary credit use.

4.1 Fine-Tune or Localize the App Video

  • Fine-tune the video: Use VN Video Editor to adjust timing, captions, music, transitions, and other details.
  • Localize the video: Select the target [Language] in the CawCut Ad Video settings before generating, then review the translated app name, features, claims, promotion details, and spoken lines. For simple localization after generation, create the video without voiceover and use VN to add localized text, captions, or text-to-speech narration. See the VN Text to Speech and Caption guide.
  • Customize the generation: Use a customized CawCut Workflow to organize app content, prompts, creative settings, and generation steps more precisely.
